Almost 7000 new toys and more than 3000 second-hand toys were collected on 22 different Carrefour Supply Chain sites (warehouses, Evry headquarters, Carrefour Bank) and delivered by volunteer teams of the company.
A special sale was also organized on Saturday 9th in the morning to welcome families who are living near hosting centers. They benefited of a 50% discount for all toys.
Besides, the 71 families who benefited from the Equipment Solidarity Bank during the year went to another private sale on Wednesday 13th in order to buy gifts with the same discount of -50% and to celebrate Christmas in their own apartment.
Indeed, the Equipment Solidarity Bank is a program implemented by Emmaüs Défi that enable people who have just moved into a long-term household to equip it with affordable furniture, in partnership with Carrefour and the Carrefour Foundation (for more information on the partnership, please go here).
Eventually, part of the collected toys was redistributed to crèches and Child Care centers.
