In Spain, the ASPACE Federation works to improve the life of people with cerebral palsy with specific food process

The ASPACE Federation (Spanish Federation of Associations for the Assistance of People with Cerebral Palsy or Similar Disabilities) was created in 1971 with the mission of improving the quality of life of people with cerebral palsy by defending their rights and supporting their families.

In 2018, the Carrefour Foundation is supporting the ASPACE federation on the issue of nutrition for people with cerebral palsy. ASPACE wishes to develop the so-called "textured diet" method, which makes it possible to give food a texture that is suitable for ingestion by people with cerebral palsy. These menus, created using a special food processor, make it possible to preserve an attractive appearance and preserve the nutritional properties of the food and in this way differs from the usual purées. The objective is to raise awareness among professionals and associations of the ASPACE movement as well as to purchase the necessary equipment for food texturization.
