Neurodon: joint forces to tackle brain diseases

For the 14th year in a row, from 21 to 29 March 2015, Carrefour will once again be holding the nationwide “Neurodon” fund-raising campaign, a campaign that was first held in its stores in 2002.

Over the past 13 years, the Neurodon Campaign has raised more than €1.2 million to help fund 37 cross-functional brain research projects looking into diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Multiple sclerosis.

Nearly 6 million people are affected – to a greater or lesser extent – by neurological conditions. And yet, we still know relatively little about many of these diseases.

In 2014, a total of €105,712 was donated by Carrefour hypermarket and a number of Carrefour Market customers via €2 donation coupons. This resulted in 3 brain disease research projects being funded.
