Fondation de la Deuxième Chance was set up in June 1998 and has since received charitable status. Its network of 70 relay sites across France brings together about a hundred partners. Its mission is to support those in dire circumstances. The Foundation's Helping Hand project offers technical, social and human support for periods of between 6 and 24 months. In all, around 1 200 volunteers (instructors and mentors) work in local communities. The Foundation provides financial "helping hands" to business creation or training, as well as human support via sponsorships for a period of 6-24 months.
In 2014, the support of the Carrefour Foundation will fund 15 projects of formations or creations in food and catering trades, so that's 3000 € per "helping hand".
