Funding of "Helping hands" projects with Second Chance Foundation

For 10 years, the Carrefour Foundation has been supporting Fondation de la Deuxième Chance and its national network, which offers vocational, social and psychological mentoring to those facing hardships.

Fondation de la Deuxième Chance was set up in June 1998 and has since received charitable status. Its network of 70 relay sites across France brings together about a hundred partners. Its mission is to support those in dire circumstances. The Foundation's Helping Hand project offers technical, social and human support for periods of between 6 and 24 months. In all, around 1 200 volunteers (instructors and mentors) work in local communities. The Foundation provides financial "helping hands" to business creation or training, as well as human support via sponsorships for a period of 6-24 months.

In 2014, the support of the Carrefour Foundation will fund 15 projects of formations or creations in food and catering trades, so that's 3000 € per "helping hand".
