This prestigious 50meters long boat will welcome 60 children from Brest for a day at sea to discover the incredible gathering of ships. Through the morning on the 13th of July, children accompanied by volunteers from the Secours Populaire in Brest will participate to the international maritime festival. They will have the opportunity to sail onboard on the Oosterschelde. This ship, built in 1917, is the last one of the large fleet with schooners (3 masts). He was used for the freight transport.
Children will be able to discover the history of this boat and admire some of the greatest ships in the world.
“This is a very nice gift for children! Be at sea is something they are not used to. We are very pleased to be able to offer this activity to the children who are very exciting!” is explaining Annie Marin, deputy director of the Secours Populaire in Brest.
Since 1988, Carrefour is a main partner of the Secours Populaire. The Group also commits for the Day of the forgotten people of holidays. In 2015, the actions offered in Carrefour stores enabled to offer a rest day to 8000 children from all over France.
